Ohsweken, Ontario – June 27, 2013 – Ohsweken Speedway’s 18th season of racing continues this Friday, June 28 when O’Neil’s Farm Equipment presents Corr/Pak Merchandising Sprint Cars, Affordable Towing & Recovery Thunder Stocks, HRW Automotive Mini Stocks, and Gale’s Auto Aftermarket Bombers, plus the TUSA Canada West Mod-Lites.

CORR/PAK MERCHANDISING SPRINT CARS
The Sprint Cars will get back to racing for championship points this Friday, following a special challenge event with the Patriot Sprint Tour last week. 2011 champion Jim Huppunen sits atop the standings heading into the next event, with Glenn Styres, Jamie Collard, Mitch Brown, and 2012 champion Chris Steele giving chase.

AFFORDABLE TOWING & RECOVERY THUNDER STOCKS
Ryan Turner went to Klotz Canada Synthetic Lubricants Victory Lane last Friday, but his brother Cory is the driver at the top of the Thunder Stock standings. Jim Lampman, Lee Winger, Chris Dickie, and Mike Thorne also hold spots in the top 5.

HRW AUTOMOTIVE MINI STOCKS
Alex Schuts got his first career feature win last Friday, but he’s chasing Davey Boughton and Robin Elliott in the points standings. Boughton has a 23 point cushion over Elliott, with Schuts, Jason Lungaro, and Laura Hughes also in the top 5.

GALE’S AUTO AFTERMARKET BOMBERS
Max Chechalk got his first win of the season last week, and he’s only 14 points behind championship leader Dusty DeBoer. BARNEY WINS IN PATRIOT SPRINT TOUR VS. CORR/PAK SPRINT SHOWDOWN

by Tommy Goudge (June 21, 2013) – A total of 109 drivers signed in to race on Patriot Sprint Tour versus Corr/Pak Merchandising Sprint Cars night at Ohsweken Speedway on Friday night. New Yorker Jason Barney was the best of the talented Sprint Car field, while Ryan Turner (Thunder Stocks), Alex Schuts (Mini Stocks), and Max Chechalk (Bombers) also visited Klotz Canada Synthetic Lubricants Victory Lane.

PATRIOT SPRINT TOUR VS. CORR/PAK MERCHANDISING SPRINT CARS
Jason Barney started in the 9th row, but didn’t stay there long after the Sprint Car feature started. Barney used the low groove to move quickly through the field, and eventually take the lead from Jamie Collard on lap 17. Barney then held off Glenn Styres for his first Ohsweken win since 2008. Styres settled for the runner-up spot, followed by Bryan Howland, Jared Zimbardi, and Jamie Collard.

Heat races for the 30 car field were claimed by Jamie Collard, Steve Collins, Glenn Styres and Dustin Daggett, while Jared Zimbardi won the “4 Laps of Fame” Dash, and Jessica Zemken won the B-Main.

AFFORDABLE TOWING & RECOVERY THUNDER STOCKS
Ryan Turner was looking for redemption on Friday night, after losing a feature win to a technical infraction last week. Turner took advantage when Dave Silverthorn, Jr. missed his mark in turn one, and held on for the feature win. Brad Herron slipped by to take the runner-up spot, followed by Silverthorn, Ryan Beagle, and Jim Lampman.

Heat races for the 34 car field were claimed by Ryan Beagle, Dave Silverthorn, Jr., Mike Thorne, and Jim Lampman, while Murray Nicholls won the B-Main.

HRW AUTOMOTIVE MINI STOCKS
Alex Schuts dominated the Mini Stock feature to take his first ever feature win at Ohsweken, while Rodney Rutherford, Robin Elliott, Mike Evers, and Rob Hoskins chased Schuts to the finish.

Heat races for the 29 car field were claimed by Kathi Dickie, Rodney Rutherford, and Laura Hughes, while Mike Evers won the B-Main.

GALE’S AUTO AFTERMARKET BOMBERS
Max Chechalk survived a few close calls and successfully negotiated traffic to take his first feature win of 2013. Jesse McDonald, Dusty DeBoer, Tim DeBoer, and Gillian Hils rounded out the top 5.

Heat races for the 16 car field were claimed by Gillian Hils and Max Chechalk.

Ohsweken, Ontario – June 19, 2013 – Ohsweken Speedway’s 18th season of racing continues this Friday, June 21 when RPM Designs presents the Corr/Pak Merchandising Sprint Cars versus the Patriot Sprint Tour, plus the Affordable Towing & Recovery Thunder Stocks, HRW Automotive Mini Stocks, and Gale’s Auto Aftermarket Bombers.

CORR/PAK VS. PST
This Friday features the first of three challenge events between traveling Sprint Car series and the regulars of the weekly Corr/Pak Merchandising Sprint Car division, with a $2,000 prize on the line for the feature winner.

The New York-based Patriot Sprint Tour travels to Canada this weekend, with stops at Ohsweken on Friday, and South Buxton Raceway on Saturday. Quebec driver Steve Poirier has 5 career feature wins at Ohsweken, including 3 in the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals, and currently leads the PST Canada standings. Poirier won the PST Canada series opener at Merrittville Speedway in April, and also won in his most recent start at Ohsweken – the 2012 Canadian Sprint Car Nationals. New York drivers Justin Barger, Tommy Wickham, Brad Knab, Scott Kreutter, Jared Zimbardi, and Steve Collins are among the PST regulars expected at Ohsweken on Friday.

Glenn Styres has won 3 of the 4 Corr/Pak division events held so far at Ohsweken in 2013, but 2011 champion Jim Huppunen leads the points standings, followed by Styres, Jamie Collard, Mitch Brown, and 2012 champion Chris Steele. They are just a few of the regulars of the Corr/Pak division ready to defend their home turf this Friday against the invaders from the Patriot Sprint Tour, plus wild cards like New York’s Jessica Zemken, and Michigan driver Dustin Daggett, an 11 time feature winner at Ohsweken who has indicated he will be racing in Canada this weekend.

AFFORDABLE TOWING & RECOVERY THUNDER STOCKS
Cory Turner scored another podium finish last Friday, and now enjoys a 32 point lead over Jim Lampman, with Lee Winger, Chris Dickie, and 2012 champion Mike Thorne also giving chase. Karl Sault was awarded the feature win last Friday, and continues to lead the Rookie of the Year standings.

HRW AUTOMOTIVE MINI STOCKS
Davey Boughton scored another Mini Stock feature win last Friday, and now has a 37 point lead over second place Robin Elliott. Alex Schuts, Jason Lungaro, and Laura Hughes round out the current top 5 in the standings. Boughton also leads the Rookie of the Year standings on the strength of his 3 feature wins in 4 starts.

GALE’S AUTO AFTERMARKET BOMBERS
Dusty DeBoer scored his first feature win of the season last Friday, and moved up to second in the standings behind Brady Longboat as a result. Jesse McDonald, Tim DeBoer, and Max Chechalk also hold top 5 spots heading into this week’s event.

Sunshine has been trusted by families and healthcare providers to make dreams come true for kids across Canada since 1987. The Sunshine Foundation is the only national Canadian charity to provide individual dreams to children with severe physical disabilities (such as spina bifida or cerebral palsy) as well as life-threatening illnesses.

Sunshine is the legacy of a father’s love for his son. After losing his teenage son to muscular dystrophy, a London, Ontario police officer created The Sunshine Foundation of Canada to brighten the lives of other children and families by fulfilling their most cherished dreams – from meeting a sports hero, to seeing a foreign country, or having a special gift like an adaptive bicycle.

Ohsweken Speedway is proud to partner with the Sunshine Foundation this Friday. Please visit www.Sunshine.ca for more information on the Sunshine Foundation.

PATRICK, TURNER, BOUGHTON, & LONGBOAT WIN ON RENWAY NIGHT AT OHSWEKEN

by Tommy Goudge (June 7, 2013) –  107 drivers signed in to race on Renway “Kick Off Summer” night at Ohsweken Speedway on Friday night. Persistent drizzle didn’t keep the races from running, or Kyle Patrick, Cory Turner, Davey Boughton, and Brady Longboat from visiting Klotz Canada Synthetic Lubricants Victory Lane.

CORR/PAK MERCHANDISING SPRINT CARS
Kyle Patrick was on a mission and got the feature win, followed by Dain Naida, Jim Huppunen, Scott Kreutter, and Tom Huppunen. The win was Patrick’s 4th at Ohsweken Speedway, and first at Ohsweken since August 5, 2011.

Glenn Styres led the points standings after two consecutive feature wins to start the season, but was not in attendance on Friday, leaving 2011 champion Jim Huppunen to take over at the top.

Heat races for the 24 car field were claimed by Kyle Patrick, Todd Hoddick, and Mitch Brown. Hoddick accrued the most passing heat race points, and won the Nathan Ackland State Farm Insurance “Top Gun” award as a result.

AFFORDABLE TOWING & RECOVERY THUNDER STOCKS
Cory Turner had to get through the B-Main to qualify for the feature, and then drove through the field for his second win in three races at Ohsweken this season. Ryan Dinning, Chris Dickie, Rob Disher, and Wyatt Van Wart rounded out the top 5.

Heat races for the 37 car field were claimed by Kevin Dawson, Kameron Kocarik, Brad Bacher, and Ryan Dinning, while Lee Winger won the B-Main.

HRW AUTOMOTIVE MINI STOCKS
Davey Boughton also scored his second win in three races this season at Ohsweken after driving through the field from row 8. Tyler Lafantaisie, Jason Lungaro, Chase Hess, and Mike Evers chased Boughton to the finish.

Heat races for the 29 car field were claimed by Doug Erskine, Jason Lungaro, and Davey Bougton, while Robin Elliott won the B-Main.

GALE’S AUTO AFTERMARKET BOMBERS
Brady Longboat won his second consecutive Bomber feature, but it was a close finish, with Tim DeBoer falling short by just a few feet. DeBoer settled for second, followed by Dusty DeBoer, Jesse McDonald, and Mark Bazuin.

Heat races for the 17 car field were claimed by Max Chechalk, and Tim DeBoer, while Dakota Potts won the B-Main.
