RULES MEETINGS SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 6, 2015

by Tommy Goudge (November 25, 2015) – Ohsweken, Ontario – Ohsweken Speedway will be holding rules and registration meetings for all five of the track’s weekly Friday night racing divisions on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the Best Western Brant Park Inn located at 19 Holiday Drive in Brantford, Ontario.

Memberships and Season Passes for the 2016 Ohsweken Speedway season will be available for purchase at the meetings, and make great Christmas gifts for the racer in your family. The membership fee is $60, and payable by cash, cheque, debit card, or credit card. The schedule for the meetings is as follows:

11:00am to 12:00pm – Registration, Membership, & Season Pass sales
12:00pm to 1:00pm – Mini Stocks & Bombers Meeting
1:00pm to 2:00pm – Thunder Stocks Meeting
2:00pm to 3:00pm – 360 Sprint Cars & Crate Sprint Cars Meeting

Schedules and other plans for the 2016 Ohsweken Speedway season are well underway, with the 2016 schedule slated to be officially released early in the new year. Weekly Friday night racing action is again on tap for Ohsweken’s 21st season in 2016, featuring the Corr/Pak Merchandising 360 Sprint Cars, Strickland’s GMC Crate Sprint Cars, Affordable Towing & Recovery Thunder Stocks, HRW Automotive Mini Stocks, and Gale’s Auto Aftermarket Bombers. STYRES, WESTBROOK, BAILEY, JANSSENS & DEBOER HONOURED AS 2015 CHAMPIONS

Glenn Styres was honoured as the champion of the Corr/Pak Merchandising 360 Sprint Car Division, while Dylan Westbrook was recognized as the Strickland’s GMC Crate Sprint Car champion, Dave Bailey was crowned Affordable Towing & Recovery Thunder Stock champion, Brandon Janssens received HRW Automotive Mini Stock champion accolades, and Dusty DeBoer was awarded his trophy as champion of the Gale’s Auto Aftermarket Bomber division.

GEOFFREY HIRED AS GENERAL MANAGER

by Tommy Goudge (November 19, 2015) – Ohsweken, Ontario – Ohsweken Speedway officials today announced that Clinton Geoffrey has been hired as the new General Manager for the Styres family-owned facility located in Ohsweken, Ontario.

A long-time employee and announcer at the speedway, Geoffrey has played a role at Ohsweken since 1998. Most recently, he has served as a Director of Race Night Operations and announcer at both Ohsweken Speedway and Humberstone Speedway.

“I will still be doing my regular duties, but will now be working with our team to bring in new business (fans, drivers, sponsors) and doing all I can to improve the customer experience,” Geoffrey stated. “I will still be announcing, and filling out my weekends on the road at other venues.”

BE A PART OF OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY’S SANTA CLAUS PARADES

The following are dates and locations of Santa Claus parades that Ohsweken Speedway will be a part of in the coming weeks. We are looking for volunteers to assist in giving the speedway a large presence.

Saturday November 21
Ohsweken Parade. Meet at the speedway at 9:30am
Port Dover parade – Meet at Knechtels parking lot across from Willies at noon.

Saturday November 28
Caledonia parade – Meet at the fairgrounds at 10am
Brantford Parade – meeting location to follow soon – meet around 5pm

Saturday December 5
Paris parade – meet on William Street at 5pm

Sunday December 6
Burlington parade – Meet behind the Burlington Mall at 1pm

Bring your enthusiasm and Christmas Spirit. Awards are handed out for the most enthusiastic float and I’m sure we can win this!!
