OHSWEKEN, Ont. (September 11, 2025) – Middleport Mechanical presented the 2nd Running of the Northern Thunder Stock Nationals and the Inaugural Running of the Northern Mini Stock Nationals at Ohsweken Speedway on Thursday; Ryan Beagle took the win for the Thunder Stocks, and Jeff Elsliger won in the Mini Stock division.

Northern Thunder Stock Nationals
Dave Bailey and Ryan Beagle earned front row starting positions for the 35 lap Northern Thunder Stock Nationals A-Main. Bailey set the pace as he led the opening lap over defending champion Beagle. Trevor Monaghan spun on lap three, bringing out the first of several caution flags. Bailey held on to his lead after the restarts, however another caution came out that extinguished his lead. Beagle used this opportunity to take away the lead from Bailey, becoming the second leader of the race on lap 17.

Despite three more caution flags, Beagle proved to be unshakable as he went on to win his second Northern Thunder Stock Nationals Championship by over three seconds, keeping him the sole driver to win the crown jewel event. Rounding out the top ten were Bailey in second, Brock Gregory third, Kyle Wert fourth, Rob Murray fifth, Ryan Dinning sixth, Kyle Pelrine seventh, Trevor DeBoer eighth, Gofast Teeple ninth, and Spencer Smolders tenth. Bailey set a new time trial track record for Thunder Stocks earlier in the evening with a lap of 18.841 seconds.

Northern Mini Stock Nationals
Ken Hair and Jeff Elsliger earned front row starting positions for the 35 lap Northern Mini Stock Nationals A-Main. Hair led the first lap, but a caution flag was shown due to Rogan Monaghan coming to a stop on the track. Hair continued to lead the race after the restart and looked like a favourite to win the race after surviving another restart on lap eleven. Gillian Hils sized up a pass for the lead on lap 15 though, becoming the second driver to lead the race.

Jason Tolton suffered an untimely front end failure which brought out the caution flag again. This allowed Jeff Elsliger to pounce on the lead on the restart, becoming the third race leader. A late race caution flag came out, setting up a dash to the finish with Hils and Elsliger racing door-to-door for the remaining laps. The race came down to a photo finish, as Elsliger eked out a win over Hils by just 0.03 seconds.

Elsliger etched his name into the Ohsweken Speedway history books as the very first Northern Mini Stock Nationals champion. Crossing the finish line next after runner-up Hils were 2025 Mini Stock Champion Tim DeBoer in third, Alex Riley fourth, Wayde Thorne fifth, Tristan DaSilva sixth, Hair seventh, Monaghan eighth, Spencer Riddell ninth, and John Lubeck tenth. Hils was fastest in time trials with a lap of 21.298 seconds.
