OHSWEKEN, Ont. (June 21, 2019) – A busy night at Ohsweken Speedway saw a total of 130 cars roll through the pit gate on McDonald’s of Paris and Brantford Emergency Services night. The night was the second live broadcast of All North Racing powered by Pinty’s on MavTV Canada.  The night also honoured first responders for their service with free admission and recognition.

When the final checkered flag waved at the end of the night, it was Mack DeMan who claimed victory with the Kool Kidz-Corr/Pak 360 Sprints Cars and Lucas Smith scoring a win with the Strickland’s GMC Crate Sprint Cars. For the stock cars, Dave Bailey won his second Middleport Mechanical Thunder Stock Feature of the season and Kyle Wert raced to his second consecutive win with the HRW Automotive Mini Stocks.

Kool Kidz-Corr/Pak 360 Sprint Cars

Ryan Turner and Jake Brown started on the front row for the 20-lap Kool Kidz-Corr/Pak 360 Sprint Car A-Feature. With the four wide salute completed, the field lined up behind the pace vehicle when contact between Mike Thorne and Shone Evans caused Thorne to flip in turn three bringing out the red flag and effectively ending Thorne’s night. Thorne was uninjured.

The race restarted for the official green flag with Ryan Turner jumping to a quick lead followed closely by Scott Kreutter, Cory Turner, Jake Brown and Holly Porter. A caution at lap three for Dylan Westbrook saw a single-file restart with Ryan Turner leading the way on the outside and Kreutter giving chase on the bottom to takeover the lead. Kreutter entered lapped traffic on lap seven when a lapped car came up the track on the back straightaway coming into contact with Kreutter and causing him to flip in corner three bringing out the red flag. Kreutter was uninjured but the car sustained considerable damage and was towed to the pit area.

The restart once again saw Ryan Turner take the lead on the top side with Mack DeMan giving chase on the bottom lane. DeMan took the lead over at lap 12 and despite two more brief cautions, he was able to hold off Mitch Brown, Ryan Turner, Jake Brown and Dylan Westbrook to take the checkered flag at the finish line. Jake Brown, Scott Kreutter and Shone Evans won their qualifying heat races to start the night.

Strickland’s GMC Crate Sprint Cars

Adrian Stahle and Brian Nanticoke paced the field to the green flag for the Strickland’s GMC Crate Sprint Cars 20-lap feature. Nanticoke took the early lead with Lucas Smith, Johnny Miller and Nick Sheridan in hot pursuit. The only caution of the evening on lap three saw Millar come to rest at the bottom of turn three. The restart had Nanticoke pace the field to the green with Smith, Sheridan, Jesse Costa and Rob Neely close behind. Nanticoke took the bottom groove as Smith went to the high side to gain the lead at lap eight. Costa and Sheridan were battling for the second position with Sheridan taking the spot by lap 15. Smith weaved through lapped traffic and ran the outside lane with Sheridan, Costa, Nanticoke and Steven Beckett giving chase. Sheridan tried to go high but Smith was able to hold him off to capture the victory with Costa, Beckett and Hunsinger rounding out a strong top five finish.

Nick Sheridan, Lucas Smith, Liam Martin and Brian Nanticoke won their qualifying heats to begin the nights while Jesse McDonald and Allan Downey won the B-Mains.

Middleport Mechanical Thunder Stocks

Nick Liverance and Steven Vanderzanden brought the 29-car field of Middleport Mechanical Thunder Stocks to the line for the green flag. Brian Teeple quickly took the lead with Vanderzanden, Jim Lampman, Zack Bleich and Billy Bleich in pursuit. An early caution at lap two for Kyle Andress slowed the field and led to a restart with Teeple and Jim Lampman bringing them to the green flag. They were four-wide going for the lead into turn four with Zach Bleich and Billy Bleich running side by side at the front and Dave Bailey closing the gap behind them. A caution was thrown at lap seven for a melee that saw multiple cars sustain damage in turns three and four. The restart put Bleich and Bailey in the front row with Ken Sargent, Trevor DeBoer, Blake Bomberry and Ryan Beagle hot on their tails. Bailey moved into first at lap nine with DeBoer running him down and racing him side by side for the top spot. Despite two cautions for debris on the track, Bailey continued to hold the lead over DeBoer, Beagle, Bleich and Sargent. Vanderzanden brought out a late caution at lap 16 when he spun in the bottom of turn 4 and collected a few more cars. The single file restart saw Bailey, DeBoer, Beagle, Billy Bleich and Sargent battling hard for the lead. An exciting last few laps saw Bailey hold on for the win with DeBoer, Beagle, Sargent and B.Bleich in the top five.

HRW Automotive Mini Stocks

Sam Iftody and Kyle Wert were on the front row for the HRW Automotive Mini Stock 15-lap Feature. Wert quickly took the lead as the green flag was shown. Wert stretched out his lead by several car lengths until a caution was waved at lap five for Chris Ryckman’s nose cone on the corner of turn two. Wert, Iftody, Olivier Larocque, Wayde Thorne, Tristan DaSilva and Dusty DeBoer brought the double file restart to green with Wert once again taking the lead. Contact between Iftody and Tony Kelly brought out the second caution of the evening on lap eight. Wert and DeBoer raced each other hard side by side off the restart as they came into turn one at lap-11 but Wert held the lead over DeBoer with Thorne, DaSilva, Mike Sarantakos and Sean Iftody staying close behind. Wert and DeBoer made contact coming out of turn three on lap-14 as the rattled over the bumps but were able to maintain control with Wert hanging onto the lead to claim victory at the checkers over DeBoer with Thorne, DaSilva and Sarantokos finishing up in the top five. Kevin Thorne and Dusty DeBoer raced to victory in their 15-lap qualifying heat races.
