OHSWEKEN, Ont. (August 22, 2025) – Ontario Agra and Charles Jones Industrial Ltd. presented the Great Lakes Super Sprints series on Friday at Ohsweken Speedway, with Darren Dryden, Jacob Dykstra, Dave Bailey, and John Lubeck taking A-Main victories.

Great Lakes Super Sprints
Darren Dryden started on pole with Dylan Westbrook next to him for the 360 Sprint Car A-Main. A caution came out before an official lap could be recorded; the restart was successful as  Nick Sheridan rocketed ahead with the early lead. Liam Martin overtook Sheridan for the lead on lap two and quickly encountered lap traffic by the fifth lap. Dryden was able to reclaim his original position as he got around Martin for the lead with 19 laps left.

Dryden was determined to pick up this GLSS victory, as the last time he competed in a race for this series he had finished as the runner-up at Eldora Speedway. Dryden endured three more restarts, and negotiated through heavy traffic and challenging track conditions to claim the win and the $2,500 prize money. Next to finish were Westbrook in second, Sheridan third, Josh Hansen fourth, and Ryan Turner fifth.

Strickland’s Crate Sprints
Rob Neely and Andrew Hennessy brought the 28 car field to the green flag for the Crate Sprint Car A-Main. Points leader Jacob Dykstra set the pace, leading the opening lap after starting fourth on the grid. Dykstra began to encounter traffic by lap five, navigating with extreme precision.

The rest of the field raced hard but fairly on the tricky track surface; in fact not a single caution flag was thrown as they raced from flag to flag. Dykstra claimed his seventh victory of the year after leading every single lap. Next to finish were Eric Gledhill in second, Jesse Costa third, Brett Stratford fourth, and Hennessy fifth.

Middleport Mechanical Thunder Stocks
The front row of the grid featured Ryan Dinning and George Grosul to begin the Thunder Stock A-Main. Dinning led the opening lap and pulled away from the field. Dinning began to pace the field as he made his way around lap traffic. Lap 13 saw a major pile up that took points leader Ryan Beagle out of the race along with Trevor Monaghan and Nick Masi, and necessitated a red flag. Two subsequent caution flags appeared before racing resumed once more.

Dave Bailey tracked down Dinning and overtook him with just two laps left to go. Dinning then quickly fell into the grasp of Trevor DeBoer, losing yet another position. It was Bailey who grabbed the checkers first, picking up his 51st career win in the Ohsweken Thunder Stock class. Rounding out the top five were DeBoer in second, Dinning third, Zack Bleich fourth, and Mike Klazinga fifth.

Insta-Insulation Mini Stocks
Mike Sarantakos started on pole alongside Spencer Riddell to take the green flag for the Mini Stock A-Main. Doug Erskine jumped out into the lead, however Erskine’s lead was extinguished when Tyler Lafantasie spun after blowing out a tire and bringing out the caution flag on lap three.

John Lubeck pounced on the restart and took the lead. Lubeck looked like he was racing in a different league as his rear wheel drive Mustang was very quick, whereas newer front wheel drive cars have generally dominated the Mini Stock class in recent seasons. Lubeck did not relinquish his position once he got the lead, and became the eleventh different winner in Ohsweken Mini Stocks this season. Finishing in the top five were Doug Erskine in second, Rogan Monaghan third, Wayde Thorne fourth, and Tristan DaSilva fifth.
