Ohsweken Speedway Cancels Kool Kidz Micro Sprint Test & Tune For June 13

OHSWEKEN, Ont. (June 13, 2019) – Ohsweken Speedway has cancelled Thursday night’s Kool KidzMicro Sprint Test and Tune session due to wet grounds. Heavy rain all day Wednesday and Thursday morning have put part of the Micro Sprint track under water and made it unfit for racing conditions for the second week in a row.

Next week’s scheduled Opening Night June 20th, will now be a practice, with the first points race to be held on Thursday June 27th “We have a lot new drivers, in new divisions.” said general manager Clinton Geoffrey. “We feel that a practice night is needed to get everyone safely up to speed before sending them out to race.”

The June 20th Test & Tune session is open to all Micro Sprint racers who plan to compete in one of Ohsweken’s classes in 2019. The pit gate will open at 5:30pm for competitors before Hot Laps at 7:00pm. Practice will rotate continuously through the Box Stock, Beginner Box Stock, Open and Flat Kart divisions. Practice will end at 9:00pm.

Parents, please be aware we need waivers signed by both parents in order for a minor to compete at Ohsweken Speedway. Without both parents approval your child will not be allowed to participate in any on-track sessions.

Additionally, one-way radios are mandatory in all classes in 2019. Drivers will not be allowed to compete on opening night June 20th without one. The radio frequency is 454.000. The Transponders System will be tested this week but is not mandatory. If you have a transponder, please make sure you put it on so we can register you in the computer.
