OHSWEKEN, Ont. (August 1, 2025) – I.L.A. Sports and Duke Electric presented Christmas in August plus UMP vs. CDN Modifieds on Friday at Ohsweken Speedway. Nick Sheridan, Greg Belyea, Jesse Costa, Ryan Beagle, and Nick Erskine took A-Main victories.

Kool Kidz-Corr/Pak 360 Sprint Cars
Nick Sheridan started on pole with DJ Christie next to him for the 360 Sprint Car A-Main. Scott Hall brought out the red flag due to a flip on the front stretch as the leaders took the green flag. Hall was unharmed in the wreck as the crowd applauded him for his bravery. Sheridan led the first lap after the restart, however reigning champion Dylan Westbrook hunted him down and overtook for the lead on lap twelve.

Westbrook then had trouble in turns one and two which allowed Sheridan to regain the lead again on lap 21. A four lap dash to the finish ensued after a red flag when Kyle Phillips tangled with a lapped car and flipped. Sheridan kept his composure and held off Christie and Westbrook for his third win of the season. Next to finish were Christie in second, Westbrook third, Darren Dryden fourth, and Ryan Turner fifth.

UMP vs. CDN Modifieds
Ken Schrader and Greg Belyea brought the field to the start the 20 lap UMP vs. CDN Modifieds A-Main. Belyea got the better start over Schrader and claimed the lead, however Glenn Styres spun out off turn three and brought out the caution flag. Belyea rocketed away on the restart, leaving Schrader and Curtis King to fight for second position.

A caution flag came out with eight laps left to go that shook up the race; Belyea successfully held off the field once again, while Styres made up a couple spots on the restart. Belyea found the checkered flag first though, sweeping the two UMP vs. CDN Modified events held at Ohsweken this season. Styres finished with a second place finish after his early spin. Rounding out the top five were Joel Dick in third, Drew Smith fourth, and Curtis King fifth.

Strickland’s Crate Sprint Cars
Mikey Kruchka and Jesse Costa brought the 28 car field to the green flag for the Crate Sprint Car A-Main. The first lap saw Ryan Fraser and Steve Murdock tangle up on turn two and bring out the caution flag. The restart was clean and Costa claimed the lead.

Costa successfully defended a restart on lap four and then another restart with four laps to go. Costa proved to be untouchable as he led every lap, scoring his second win of the season and 12th all-time at Ohsweken Speedway. Rounding out the top five were Eric Gledhill in second, Mikey Kruchka third, Logan Shwedyk fourth, and Al Sleight fifth.

Middleport Mechanical Thunder Stocks
The front row of the grid featured Scott McPhail and Ryan Dinning to begin the Thunder Stock A-Main. Dinning grabbed the early lead, getting the better of McPhail. Dustin Duga suffered a spin on lap four and brought out the caution flag. Dave Bailey capitalized on the race restart and took over the lead. Mike Klazinga and Ryan Beagle also got around Dinning, relegating him to the fourth position.

Beagle set up a pass on Klazinga with eight laps left to go and set his sights on Bailey. Beagle got past Bailey with just two laps remaining and scored his fifth win of the season. Bailey settled for a second place finish, while Klazinga took the final podium spot. Rounding out the top five were Dinning fourth and Trevor DeBoer fifth.

Insta-Insulation Mini Stocks
Steven Boverhof started on pole alongside Bill Pearsall to take the green flag for the Mini Stock A-Main. Pearsall took the early lead, however teammate Gillian Hils chased him down to claim the lead for herself on lap four. Jason Tolton tracked down Hils for the lead on lap eight and became the third leader of the race.

A late-race caution flag saw weekly contender Dusty DeBoer taken out in a wreck. Nick Erskine had his first victory in his sights, and he rocketed into the lead on the restart. Erskine held off Jeff Elsliger to claim is maiden victory at Ohsweken Speedway. Finishing out the top five were Elsliger in second, Tim DeBoer third, Wayde Thorne fourth, and Jeremy Cooper fifth.
