Is anyone ready to steal his Friday Night Thunder?
April 24, 2026, OHSWEKEN, ON – Dylan Westbrook is the winningest driver in Ohsweken Speedway sprint car history, and he is the defending track champion in the premier Kool Kids Ice and Water/Corr Pak Merchandising 360 sprint car class.
In fact, the driver known as D-Dubz has won five of the last seven track championships, and his 50 feature wins are even more impressive when you consider his first victory was just more than 10 years ago.
But even with the accolades and impressive track record it’s impossible to disregard the pressure coming from the pack. D-Dubz’ reign at the top of the sprint car heap is under attack from multiple formidable opponents.
“It’s amazing how quickly talent grows,” said Ohsweken Speedway General Manager Clinton Geoffrey. “Dylan is undoubtedly the driver to beat if you want to be called the best in the 360 Sprint Car world at Ohsweken Speedway. But the competition is all over him, and this might be the year he gets a run for his money.”
Young Nick Sheridan of Mt Brydges, Ontario, scored a huge victory in last year’s prestigious Northern Sprint Car Nationals to cap off a four-win season at the Big O. Darren Dryden flexed his muscle behind the wheel scoring a win on a night that tested each driver’s will with bumps and ruts and character. DJ Christie finished strong with a ‘Night Before the Nationals’ win last year before keeping his skills sharp with various races south of the border during our off season.
Other returning challengers include three-time Northern Sprint Car Nationals Champion Ryan Turner as well as his brother multi-time feature winner Cory Turner. Josh Hansen endured enough bad luck to last a career in 2025, but he also finished strong last season, and he’s looking for a big rebound in 2026.
“Our sprint car division has always been entertaining,” said Geoffrey. “The difference now is our sprint car teams and drivers are as good or better than any drivers in the world. We are proud to showcase them each and every Friday.”
Last year required top-five finishes in every main event except one to secure a spot on the first two steps of the podium at the awards banquet. Performance at that level isn’t considered consistency. It’s called excellence.
Action begins for all four of Ohsweken Speedway’s main divisions on the Friday night of the May long weekend – May 15th, and runs nearly every Friday night through the middle of September. For more information please visit www.OhswekenSpeedway.com .
