OHSWEKEN, Ont. (August 1, 2025) – Strode’s BBQ & Deli and Electromart presented Friday’s event at Ohsweken Speedway. Jacob Dykstra swept both segments of the Noelle Teal Memorial for Strickland’s Crate Sprint Cars, while Cody McPherson took another win in RoC Sportsman Modified action. Dave Bailey was the Middleport Mechanical Thunder Stock winner, and Bill Pearsall took Insta-Insulation Mini Stock honours.
Strickland’s Crate Sprint Cars
Dykstra and Jesse Costa brought the 28 car field to the green flag for the first of the two 14 lap segments in the Noelle Teal Memorial A-Main. A red flag came out on the first lap as multiple drivers flipped into a pile off turn one. This crash took out many good drivers, but thankfully all were unharmed. The restart was successful and Dykstra set the pace and built a sizable gap over the pack. The midfield began to get into a rhythm as they raced fearlessly for position in Noelle Teal’s memory. Dykstra took the first stage win as the 14th lap was completed.
The second stage saw Dykstra once again leading the field to the green flag. The battle through the pack heated up right away, providing great racing. A late-race caution flag set up a seven lap dash to the finish, where Dykstra successfully held off Costa for the win. Taking the final spot on the podium was Nick Sheridan, who enjoyed an excellent one-off drive from row eleven. Finishing off the top five were Al Sleight in fourth and Austin Roes fifth.
Race of Champions Sportsman Modifieds
Brad Rouse started on pole with Curtis Friesen next to him for the RoC Sportsman Modified A-Main. Rouse led the first nine laps with a commanding advantage as he navigated through traffic. Lap twelve saw a caution flag as Bill Bleich came to a stop in turn two. It took three tries to resume the race after two false starts.
Rouse suffered a mechanical failure and forfeited the lead. Cody McPherson took over at the front while managing a flat left front tire. McPherson went on to win the race despite his car’s ailment. Next to finish were Tyler Pendykoski in second, Nigel Pendykoski third, Curtis Friesen fourth, and Matteo Panunte fifth.
Middleport Mechanical Thunder Stocks
The front row of the grid featured Gofast Teeple and Robert Hoskins to begin the 20 lap Thunder Stock A-Main. Mike Klazinga took the early lead on the first lap, however Bella General brought out the caution flag on lap two after a spinout in turn two. Klazinga maintained his lead after the restart while the midfield were battling it out, at times racing four wide. George Grosul lost his left rear wheel on lap seven and brought out the caution flag. Another caution flag flew shortly afterward as Trevor DeBoer came to a stop in turn four.
Klazinga once again held off the field, however it didn’t last long as a three-way battle for the lead ensued. Ryan Beagle and Dave Bailey both overtook Klazinga and went to work on settling the race between themselves. Bailey passed Beagle in the closing laps for the win, chalking up his 49th Thunder Stock victory at Ohsweken Speedway. Rounding out the top five were Beagle in second, Zack Bleich third, Klazinga fourth, and Nick Masi fifth.
Insta-Insulation Mini Stocks
Christopher French started on pole alongside Mike Sarantakos to take the green flag for the 15 Lap Mini Stock A-Main. French led the first lap, however Bill Pearsall turned up the wick as he passed French for the lead on the second lap. The rest of the field raced amongst themselves and allowed Pearsall to pull a commanding lead of over three seconds as they scrambled for positions.
No one had anything for Pearsall as he sailed off to his second win at Ohsweken Speedway after leading all but one lap. Joining Pearsall on the podium were his teammate Gillian Hils in second, and Nick Erskine third. Dusty DeBoer and Jeremy Cooper finished fourth and fifth.
